I’ve been chipping away at these in phases and finally have them ‘done.’ I’m considering printing off and adding creeping vines and the like to give them a little more life. That’s a “down the line” idea.

I spent some time with a friend doing a paint and chat at their place. It’s the first time I’ve done so–turns out it was a great way to paint the scatter I’d been dragging my feet on, which then further inspired me to finish all the doors I needed to really call these buildings done for now.

As I stated in my post on the Mexican Stable, these files are great. They have moving doors, interior details, and great exterior details that are easy to paint.

Their immediate purpose will be for What a Cowboy but if I ever get into Sharp Practice they should serve very neatly as Iberian buildings. They might even be a little reasonable for medieval battles in Portugal. After all, clay roofs were introduced by the Moors. Really, few buildings are more versatile in setting than these classic Mediterranean style homes. Europe, Mexico, Asia… they’re everywhere. Let’s uh… let’s not visit why, but they are.

I love these–they’ll probably see a lot of use this year. I really think this is coming out to be one of my best sets of buildings to date. The files did most of the work–can’t recommend them enough. They strike this perfect balance between detail and simplicity. It’s just the right amount of painting. You even get to skip painting a bunch of the window frames because they actually look good in white! Brilliant.

I still have a church left to paint for this set. I’m hoping to make it to a local paint and chat at Your Hobby Place in Alexandria (April 19th, this upcoming Saturday). We’ll see–I have a game scheduled that day so I may be pushing my luck with the missus. I’ll be thankful to put this project to bed. Alongside this are 10 mounted cowboys, then I’ll debate between doing a wagon or stopping to paint my Warmaster Lizardmen I just finished printing.

What was that? “What Warmaster lizardmen? You’re doing Warmaster now?” As I’ll say many times: the resin printer was a mistake.

The plastic one, though? Fantastic buy. Long live my Bambu P1P.
