I’ve continued to prep miniatures for my campaign with my son. It’s been a fun, engaging project to tear through. Today, I’ve got a few final stalker options and a bunch of enemies.

These bugs and rats were quick and dirty. There are no bugs in the game by default, so I had to make a profile for them. As the author readily encourages this, it was easy enough to do. The main difference is I allow the bugs to fly. Really, I just wanted the variety. In hindsight I could probably also add some rabid dogs–I might look into that.

Next we have the ghouls. These are pretty iconic from the STALKER video games. Here, they operate as fast moving melee enemies who will punish you for being out of position or not having someone on Alert (overwatch) ready to watch over you. I like how spooky they are. Both human and not. These are probably the least transferrable miniatures in this project–they’re very distinctly from the setting.

On the far less human scale, we have mutants. Unlike the stalkers, these will work across multiple games. I only painted up four, which I somewhat regret. These would work well across multiple settings. I’ve been thinking of following this campaign with a possible zombie game, so I suspect these boys still have more life in them.

Stalkers! I took my time on these as I really like the sculpts. These could be player characters or enemies. I’m sure my son will grab the sniper for his crew. My favorite is the commander with the cigar. It just fits the mood so damn well. I’m quite happy with how these came out.

As a final bonus, templates! I really didn’t need to print these–I have four or five sets of transparent templates sitting around. I just stumbled across the designs and really liked them, so here we are. These served as a nice break from writing a final essay for a class. Nothing fancy in terms of paint scheme, but they fit the vibe on tabletop. I’ve found that to be increasingly important for this game and setting.

And there we are. Just the zombies and terrain left to go. Then I probably move on to whatever the next thing to strike my fancy is. My son has enjoyed our first few games, so it might be another coop game to build on the momentum. Maybe I’ll finally tackle playing a Five Leagues or Five Parsecs campaign with him. Or maybe we’ll play some cooperative Elder Scrolls: Call to Arms. It’s well suited to the task and I can 3D print everything–that might just make an ideal Hobbypocalypse project this year. We’ll see.
