I printed these off much earlier in the year and finally found some time to knock them out. Honestly, I just needed a small project between batches of dwarves. I have 24 more crossbowmen to paint, so painting a bunch of rocks just… appealed.

The set in question.

These were super easy to tear through. I dry brushed from black, then based them. The only wrinkle was a small pool of water, which I choose to make teal, with bits of green floating in it.

Otherwise, this was one of those small projects that’ll add value for years–really gratifying.

The basing was graciously simple: I coated the bases in a mix of glue, sand, and craft paint, then let it dry. After that, I dry brushed and then applied glue and a grass mix. Finally, a few flowers dot some of the bases for added color.

Another small project down! Now, onto the remaining dwarves…

  1. They look nice.
Whenever I’ve visited standing stones, cairns, or tumuli, I usually find myself stood in mud, so I especially like your little pool of relatively clean water.
