Last Thursday was the tease, today is the reveal. Not that there’s really all that much to reveal, but here is the quick snapshots of my new reinforced American platoon for Chain of Command V2.

It is 80 figures in all. I wanted four full sections with options to run them as BAR teams or traditional paratroopers. On top of that, I needed enough for the standard suite of support weapons. I definitely went a bit overboard–normally you get away with 50-60 miniatures.

I printed off the sets from Eskice miniatures and while I like the few poses that are there, there really weren’t many usable poses in the end, so I’ll spare you shots of every individual figure.

That’s not to say the poses aren’t worthwhile. I have quite a few men with poses I really love, like this Junior Leader above or this other one below, who I’ve deemed a Junior Leader based solely on how cool he looks.

The machine gun teams came out great in terms of posing–I multi-based them so it would show through. I printed off three so I could run a full platoon of paras with LMGs, or otherwise just count them as MMGs and really lay on the heavy firepower when needed.

Finally, we have the support weapons that don’t just shoot a ton of bullets.

I’m quite happy with both the force and the turnaround time. I started these in the last week of September and I completed them in about three total weeks of effort.

It’s not often I get to bang out such a large project so quickly these days. I’m thankful to have had the time and chance. My next project will take considerably longer.

They can’t all be so darn easy, I suppose.

But man, I hope the next project is anywhere near this satisfying. The 509th ranks high on my list of favored projects this year. Geronimo, indeed!

  2. That’s a solid looking force you put together there. I really dig the poses highlighted, especially for the big anti tank gun. Well done.
