Sorry for the recent radio silence. Between school, work, and uh… the world… I’ve been a little busy or otherwise not as interested in writing lately.
At least I painted! These infantry are from the Deus Vult line, Berber Infantry.

They were easy to build with minimal mold lines. The only mold lines that bothered me appear on some, but not all of the heads. Several heads on the sprue have a mold line right down the center of their faces. This leaves just enough heads on sprue that don’t have the same mold line problem. I was able to avoid those bad heads but as a direct result I use the same 6 heads repeatedly throughout.

This isn’t a big problem with infantry wearing head wraps but it’s definitely something to hesitate on across the Deus Vult line. They’re cheap for a reason–but I acknowledge I’m quite happy with the end product regardless.

This project leaves me more than ready for With Shield and Courage or SAGA. For Midgard I have 82 total minis, which is just barely enough to form an army. I also still need to paint up their basing trays I designed and 3D printed. All told it should be a great looking force and I look forward to adding some of the new Victrix Islamic line in the next few months.

My next major project will be a corresponding force of Crusaders. I have a mix of Deus Vult and Wargames Atlantic infantry to build for that project. I may deviate and do some smaller projects first but I’m very confident Crusaders are next on my build and paint plate.

All told, this is 30 more infantry down. Not bad for a guy balancing volunteer responsibilities, school, and a family.

Speaking of, this was the last thing I had on my plate to delay my econ homework. Back to budget lines…
