Been a little radio silent. I have a review to write for the modern terrain I recently finished, another Silver Bayonet coop mission to release, and I’ve even started playing Battletech with a campaign planned.
Will I ever settle down and focus? Probably not. The year of small projects is off to a promising start, really.

Here we have my Silver Bayonet miniatures. I’ve painted both the Russian and Austrian units as Russians. The idea was to have more than enough options to cover a full campaign.
I adored these miniatures. I always love painting North Star figures–they have such great character and really pop when painted.

Next up is a church and graveyard I painted for North America. It’s large enough to be the centerpiece in a mission or two. I spent time researching old churches in North America and found that they’re really quite simple. White on white, simple black roofs. I think I pulled off the look reasonably well here.

Finally, the odd twist: I painted up some mechs! I also made the trees bases and buildings you see on the background here. We are playing Alpha Strike so we can do full combined arms. Turns out my PLA 3D printer can pump out pretty reasonable 6mm vehicles, as seen here. The mechs are all official sculpts.
I’ll detail out my force and campaign another time. Ideally, we’ll see a lot more of these little hunks of metal.
I did get a proper combined arms game in. We found the system to be smooth and it handled everything from VTOLs to Mechs quite easily.

That’s… not even eveyrhting, really. I’ve been busy, but it’ll suffice for an update. On the horizon I have:
1) Silver Bayonet campaign pre-game day
2) Battletech campaign
3) What a Cowboy demo
4) Chain of Command game day
5) Infinity slow grow
Admittedly, a very busy Q1 list. It seems my Mogadishu design has to wait for Q2. I did plug away at it, but found that to do it justice I need to pull up the scope. Originally, I’d envisioned a tactical game, but it really needs to shift toward being operational. I hope to have more thoughts on it and an actual deliverable design later this year.
Per usual: I’ve settled on calming things down while simultaneously signing up for way too much. It’ll be interesting to look back in six months and see how much of this even panned out.
