I received some technicals from InCountry a few months back–one eastern and one western. Yesterday, I finally got around to putting some paint on. I skipped the men who attach to the guns as I want these pieces to be flexible.

The resin models are okay. There’s a lot of small imperfections or places where the details just weren’t quite great. I’m happy, but mildly disappointed and can’t quite recommend them. See the odd cut through the model on both sides below.

The company badges also wash out a little, but I didn’t grab a great photo of it. Again, I’m happy with them–I just can’t quite recommend them.

Per my paint job: I went quick and simple just to have them done in time for a potential game this Friday. I airbrushed their primary colors, picked out the details via brush, and then shaded with black via airbrush. Easy, fast process for good looking pieces.

I’ve always loved technicals and I’m super excited to get them to tabletop. I have this dream of making a Toyota Wars ruleset where it’s just a bunch of technicals blasting each other. I doubt it would be entertaining more than once or twice, but a man can dream.

Per the game I intend them for: I’ll be playing Asymmetric Warfare this Friday. I’ve setup a board and scenario for our learner game. I’ve also produced a series of cards for the various units and equipment in the game which I intend to release here and on Facebook after some testing.

Here’s the board:

The construction site is a bunch of Marvel Crisis Protocol terrain I’ve repurposed. Same for the cars. They’re a little colorful but I think it works out. I have walls to paint and hope I can knock them out in time. We’ll see.

The cards I made are straightforward enough. Here’s some examples:

The unit cards are standard poker size. The equipment are board game mini sized. I always find cards super helpful, so hopefully other people will, too. Tonight I plan to make a QRS.

Anyway, game report and cards to come. I have high hopes for Asymmetric Warfare, but that’s a post for another time.

Here’s a fun bonus shot of all miniatures I painted in November. It was a slow month, but I enjoy how diverse this small group is.

  1. Great work on the technicals.

Will be interested to hear how the game plays out as I’ve not managed to play it yet.

Love what you have done with the game aids. Far prettier than my rather functional efforts.

    Cheers,

    Pete.
