I have an idea for a game kicking around in my head that is, in short, WW2 with demons. To realize the aesthetic I decided to kitbash some models and see how I like it.

The models are made from Wargames Atlantic WW1/2 French and the Foot Sergeants from Deus Vult.

They carry shields for “protection,” believing any metal will give them supernatural protection against the very demons they summon. This belief is spurred by the presence of “holy” warriors fielded by The Lord’s Alliance (UK, Southern Europe, North Africa) which has units blessed by a higher power so their weapons can harm demons and their armor can guard against them.

It’s dark times for Europe. France has unleashed a horrible power, and now they march on Germany seeking to head off the next Great War with a decisive victory led by their demonic hosts. Their soldiers are but fodder to be sacrificed to summon these great demons to the field, where they should destroy the Germans quickly before a true resistance can be mounted.

So anyway, I’ve drafted rules and should have a playable ruleset in a week or so. Hope to build two forces and test it in the coming months if my interest holds. If not, I guess I’ll just have some cool French models to throw into something later down the line. They were fun to kitbash. Maybe I’ll pivot to something like Turnip28.

Or maybe The Demon War will actually begin…
