And that’s a wrap! Two months I’ve slaved away on these silly lobsters, but now they’re finally ready to rewrite history (or, given my gaming track record, reaffirm it).
This army is mostly composed of Perry miniatures, with a few Warlord minis thrown in here and there. Two cannons are Warlord, the Grenadiers are Warlord (8 men), and the mounted general is from Warlord. Perry minis were easily a cut above for me, but lacked on variety for the era. I regret not getting more of their metals as opposed to my Warlord plastics.
To be clear: the Warlord kits are good, just not AS good.
My technique here was to prime white and use contrast-like paints as much as possible. I’d do the white by priming white and then hitting the miniature all over with Holy White Speed Paint (Army Painter v1)–it is easily my favorite method for no-fuss white. I’ve tried every contrast-like white on the market and Holy White is my favorite. The red was Baal Red from Citadel. The blue was one of the Speed Paint V2 blues, which honestly all come out looking very similar.
What else might one ask? Oh! The flag is just a print out. Plain paper and glue. Nothing fancy. This isn’t really an army I expect to see a ton of action, so a free flag that looks alright was plenty good. The dead men came with the Perry infantry and the Warlord artillery kits. Their bases are bases I made and uploaded onto Thingiverse for people to be able to print.
The game system for these is Sharp Practice.
Next big project is my 6mm armies. It seems like I may actually get started on them this time, after several years of sitting. Mark it a miracle if I actually end up posting WIP shots of tiny little French or British men.
Anyway, here’s the final shots of the slightly less tiny British men.
