I’ve been part of a slow-grow 9th edition Crusade campaign with… a lot of guys. Part of the campaign is that we are expected to write lore, which is something very new to me. I generally consider myself a poor story-teller, but I want to give it a shot. Below is my week 1 wrap up narrative, but first, a summary of my army:
They’re Orks. They’re led by a fella named Warghuk. He hasn’t quite earned a second name yet–I expect it to happen during the campaign. His first game ended in a humiliating defeat at the hands of some Dark Angel’s, so we segue into his next story snippet:
Warghuk ran, humiliated. If his boys weren’t all dead, he’d have to kill a few of them himself to re-earn their respect.
“Respekt–dere’s a ‘ard one fer ya…”
The good thing about Orks is they fall in line as soon as a bigger Boy shows up. Warghuk rebuilds his warband with fresh recruits. They’re the same makeup–he likes to smash, after all. He turns his eyes on the next Space Marine installment: a small space port. Run down, ruined, and ready to be smashed. He sees the Hammerhead chapter guarding the port. No time to think: it’s time to smash. He bellows out his order:
“Lez go fishin’, boyz!”
